Mini Mealworms - 500g

Mini Mealworms due to their smaller size (13 to 18mm) provide an excellent food for fledglings. Did you know that Blue Tit parents need to feed an average of 10,000 caterpillars to each brood of young, so by offering parent birds a source of readily available live-food such as (mini mealworms) helps to ensure that the youngsters that are being reared receive a constant supply of the highly nutritious livefood which they require to sustain optimum growth rates before fledging. Mini mealworms provide 100% food with little or no waste, they can be administered from a garden bird table in a straight sided dish or bowl or they can be offered from a purpose made mealworm feeder.

Looking after your mealworms
Depending on quantity purchased, your mealworms will either arrive in plastic tubs, in which they can be stored, or in large volume sacks which need to be transferred into smaller containers, add Pro-Grub or bran and store in a cool place. If mealworms are kept for extended periods, you may start to notice a fine dust in the tub. This is mealworm waste, which should be removed from the tub, using a household sieve.
