Regular mealworms provide 100% food with little or no waste, they can be administered from a garden bird table in straight sided dishes or bowls or they can be offered from a purpose made mealworm feeder.
Looking after your mealworms
Depending on quantity purchased, your mealworms will either arrive in plastic tubs, in which they can be stored, or in large volume sacks which need to be transferred into smaller containers, add Pro-Grub or bran and store in a cool place. If mealworms are kept for extended periods, you may start to notice a fine dust in the tub. This is mealworm waste, which should be removed from the tub, using a household sieve.
