"This is now my 5th live food feeder and is certainly the best I have come across for small birds. Finally I have found something that them starlings cannot get at! Since buying this I have had regular visits from bluetits who use this feeder for their young in a nesting box in my garden. Makes me more happy that only the smaller birds can get at the live food. Also had sparrows feeding from this. Well worth buying if you want to help the smaller birds get a chance to eat the live food!"

"i first started looking for a guardian feeder for my mealworms after starlings would eat a good £3 worth of mealworm in under an hour. i tried a few guardian feeders that claimed to be able to keep out medium and larger birds out so that the food could be saved for the smaller birds, but i found that allot of these even tho they did stop the larger bird getting right in, the cage itself was too close to the food. so the large birds would just hold on and stick just their head in and eat easier than before. this one tho doesnt have this problem and stops the pesky birds reaching in and chowing down. i have however recently seen one of the smallest starlings forcing his way in through the bottom set of holes in the guardian, but it is likely not a fully grown one and the guardian still stops a whole flock of starlings from backrupting me in a matter of minutes (as only the one an get in. but if you did want to make this feeder 100% starling proof you could easily use some haxnick soft-tie to reduce the size of the bottom set of gaps further."
